Walter Ellis 50 Dies in Baytown Rites Saturday
Walter John Ellis 50 died at 9 50 am Thursday in a Baytown hospital. Funeral 2 pm Saturday at Baul U Lee Chapel with Rev Glen Kollmeyer officiating. Burial Cedar Crest Cemetery. He retired April 1 from Humble Oil Baytown Refinery as a safety engineer after 26 years. He lived at 238 W Bayshore Dr and was a Liberty native who moved to Baytown 26 years ago. He attended Liberty High School and Texas A&M, served in World War II, and helped organize the U S Coast Guard Auxiliary. Survivors include his widow Sophia Steirer Ellis and son Jon Sieber Ellis of Baytown, plus three sisters and a brother.
