Baytown Resident Dies After 35 Years There
Carr formerly of Baytown and Millersville Alabama died in a Baytown hospital at 5 15 today. He was born September 12 1889 in Millersville AL and was an insulator at Humble Oil Refining Co Baytown Refinery until retirement in 1955. Survived by wife Eula Lee Carr of San Fernando California two brothers and two sisters many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at South Plain Church of Christ with burial at Memory Gardens.

Lee College Hires New Math and Speech Teachers
Lee College board approved Dean Walter Rondell’s recommendation to hire a new math teacher and two speech teachers. Cancer Drive To Kick Off Wednesday
About 125 are expected to attend a Cancer Crusade kick off coffee at 10 a m Wednesday at Holiday Inn. Volunteers will be instructed on house to house information and the fund drive. Mrs Harlan Blackmon and Mrs G Rex Curtin reminded area leaders and workers to attend. After seeing the film The Million Club individuals will receive their assigned work packets. The meeting will take no longer than an hour. Mrs Blackmon and Mrs Curtin said there are a few vacancies for large areas that can be shared. Men or women interested in the drive are invited to attend the meeting and volunteer their services General Chairmen J N Chatfield also invited prospective volunteers to attend the coffee. He said there are three openings in the business and professional follow up team to be filled.

Gemini astronauts Grissom and Young begin training
In Houston Major Virgil I. Grissom aged 38 and Lt. Cmdr. John W. Young aged 3 started intensive training today for the first Gemini space flight planned later this year. A Space Center official had said they were scheduled for a geological field trip in Big Bend National Park in southwest Texas today. They were announced Monday as the Gemini astronauts.

Aggie Muster Set For April 21 At Tower

Two Highlands residents were injured when a small airplane crashed on final approach at Jumphrey Airport north of Baytown. Harry Case of Humble Oil and Refining Co and Mrs Kathleen McKinney survived the crash, with Mrs McKinney admitted to Gulf Coast Hospital for injuries and Case treated for facial and head cuts.

REL High School Cuts Towel Fees in PE Classes
The Robert E. Lee High School board reduced towel fees for girls from 1.50 to 0.75 per semester and boys from 2.00 to 1.35 per semester with junior high fees unchanged.
