Baytown will receive eight 15 000 lumen mercury vapor street lamps announced by Houston Lighting and Power Company. Four lamps will go to the Lee Drive Highway 146 area and four to Decker Drive Park and Woodruff vicinity. Installations expected within days after council approved the request at the March 16 meeting. The county funds request for payment was rejected. The new lights offer whiter light and better visibility than standard street lamps.

Strange Radio Disk Baffles AEC Officials
Central City Colorado officials admit they cannot identify a two inch diameter mysterious metal disk found in Lake Gulch south of the mining town. The disk registered over 20 percent radioactivity on a geiger counter and puzzled the FBI, Geological Survey, health officials, and veteran miners.
