Consolidation of Bay Coast Hospitals Sets Stage for Closure
Baytown's Bay Coast system merges Alexander and Garth campuses into a single emergency room complex at the expanded Garth site. The move doubles ER space to 6,500 square feet, allowing 16 critical cases at once, while minor injuries now funnel through a unified ER. Closure risks longer drives for east Baytown residents and shifts in staffing and services across campuses.
