Mass casualty drill achieves purpose in Baytown
Baytown held its 16th annual mass casualty exercise simulating Hurricane Zilch and a tornado that collapsed a shelter at Bicentennial Park. About 109 volunteer victims were treated by emergency responders and Baytown hospitals. 60 organizations and 650 participants joined. Observers from Houston Harris County Fort Bend and FEMA praised training in collaborative procedures though equipment gaps were noted and continued year round practice recommended.
