Bayland Marina Reopens After 4.3 Million Reconstruction
City officials formally reopened Bayland Marina after a 4.3 million rebuild following Ike destruction. The 101-slip facility can host small sailboats, catamarans, and power boats 35 to 55 feet. Docks were removed last summer and rebuilt from October. Tim Hazelwood will continue operating under a city contract renewed after a 42 month gap. Bayland Island location lies just south of the Fred Hartman Bridge.

Woman jailed after leaving kids in car
An Anahuac woman, 36, was jailed after Baytown police say she left three children in a running Dodge Journey at a Ross store parking lot on Garth Road while shopping. Officers found a 7-year-old and two 2-year-olds, with the younger in a car seat, and spoke with the older child who unlocked the vehicle door.

Easter Sunday crash injures several near school
At 4 50 p m Easter Sunday a Chevrolet Avalanche ran a stop sign on Alexander Drive near Horace Mann Junior School, colliding with a Ford Escape that rolled and landed upside down in the median. One Escape occupant was ejected and EMS from several communities aided the injured. the Avalanche driver sustained no injuries.
