New Proposal Could Cut City Ambulance Fee
A four point amendment to Baytown's Belfort Ambulance contract could halve the monthly subsidy from 6000 to 3000 if contracts totaling 1500 monthly are negotiated. Ambulance fees would stay at 30 for emergency runs and 20 for transfers, with day and night shifts reduced from three to two and one ambulance on graveyard duty. Baytown Bands To Play At Kiwanis Convention in Houston
Baytown high school bands plans a June set of performances for 17 000 Kiwanis delegates in Houston. Robert E Lee High will open the convention June 25 at the Houston Coliseum while Ross Sterling may perform June 27 at the Astro Dome during Kiwanis events. Trustees approved the trip with seniors eager to participate after summer rehearsals. The appearance marks the first high school band to perform at the convention in 17 years.
