Service League of Baytown marks 70 years of community service

The Service League of Baytown celebrates its 70th anniversary. Since 1948 it has screened vision and hearing for local students, logged 986 volunteer hours and 17 702 screenings this school year, and funds programs through the annual Charity Ball. The group also aids seniors, hosts museum tours, birthday parties, and gifts for needy families, with event plans including a Dueling Pianos fundraiser on October 6, 2018 at South Shore Harbour.

Faith Community Hospice Dream Realized in Baytown

In the mid 1990s Cynthia Patterson and Carol Mendelevitz formed plans to create a free standing, locally owned hospice in Baytown. Since August 2004 they pursued compassionate care with a team of local nurses social workers chaplains and office staff under the motto To Comfort Always. This Baytown pillar emphasizes pain management close physician collaboration and ongoing expansion of compassionate services.
