Tina Williams of Baytown was arrested about 8 30 p.m. Friday and charged with assault on a police officer after resisting arrest and striking an officer in the face during a disturbance at an apartment on Garth Road. The officer was dazed but not injured. Police logged multiple burglary reports in Baytown, including stolen vehicles, firearms, trailers, and cash in 5400 to 6900 blocks of Highway 146, Louise Street, Ward Road, Decker Drive, Northwood Drive, North Main Street, Garth Road, Nolan Road, and Virginia Street, plus DWI arrests at West Main and Lee Drive and at a club on Garth Road.
The Bay Area Relay for Life concludes 2017 activities with campsites down and ongoing giving urged year round. Tri chairs Denise Martinez and Kimberly Dillard stress continued fundraising for a cure and research. Donations through August at relayforlife.org/bayareatx count toward 2017 totals. September gifts count toward 2018.
