Of City's Hospital Founders Dies At 76
Dr C H Langford founder of Goose Creek Baytown Hospital died at 76 in Georgetown after a career spanning Baylor Medical School teaching anatomy to Baytown retirement in 1959. He helped establish Goose Creek Hospital in 1932 along with Drs Brooks and Hawkins. The hospital grew from five beds to 36 beds and later became Baytown Hospital. Langford was first Harris County doctor to use penicillin and glucone treatments. He later ran a ranch in Florence before moving to Georgetown. Funeral services set for 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Florence officiated by Revs Lytell and Seilheimer.
