Firefighters sue Baytown over pay schedule and arbitration
The Baytown Professional Firefighters Association filed a civil suit in Harris County 61st District Court challenging the city and acting City Manager Ron Bottoms over a payroll upgrade. Firefighters are paid every 26 days with varying payday dates, unlike other city workers, prompting arbitration requests and claims of unilateral changes without bargaining. The city says it has not been served and declined further comment.
