James Mears born May 18 1944 in Baytown Texas died March 26 in England after a yearlong leukemia fight. He earned a PhD from the University of Texas and worked with The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia including the Lewis and Clark botanical collection. He was a Big Brother and enjoyed bridge opera and cooking. He is survived by his mother Cle Mears and many relatives. services will be held in England April 3 with a later memorial in northwest England.
