Law Seeks To Link Flying Bandit With Unsolved Slaying
GoTantic Okla April 3 A flying bandit who wrecked his rented plane two hours after robbing a small town bank was held on federal bank robbery charges while authorities sought to link him with an unsolved slaying. Jim Hobison twenty eight Enid Oklahoma robbed First State Bank of Oiterche and fled with over $3750. He drove a stolen car to near Crescent where the two seat Aeronca plane parked. The plane crashed two miles from a roadblock. Habison was unconscious and dragged from the wreckage by Ernest Rudd. Officers found the bank money and four guns in the plane. Mrs Rudd said she saw him fly low and wave then crash the plane.
