ULDC reviews rezoning residential districts in Cherra
Unified Members of the Land Development Code Citizen Task Force began reviewing the residential districts proposed in the staff draft of the ULDC on Thursday. The current ULDC has five zoning classifications but the staff draft suggests increasing to 11 base districts with four overlay and special purpose zoning districts. Five of the 11 base districts would be residential. Committee members questioned the need for five residential categories while Kelly Carpenter said the goal is to preserve older neighborhoods and elevate standards to improve quality of life and property values. The panel also discussed aesthetic measures such as limiting long driveways. SEE ULDC PAGE 3A.
