Kennedy outlines Cuba raids and global stakes
Kennedy warned refugee attacks on Cuba could draw the United States into war and risk Soviet entrenchment in Cuba. He urged restraint and cited risks to American vessels. He also commented on voting rights in Greenwood Mississippi and discussed Latin American and global political issues influencing U.S. policy. He favored democratic restoration in South Korea and rejected a GOP call for a federal spending study commission. He declined to discuss SEC proposals and expressed little hope for a compulsory arbitration solution to newspaper strikes.

Pop Influences TV Ratings More Than Mountain Folk
Washington AP reports a House Commerce subcommittee inquiry finds seven million residents of the Rocky Mountain states have little impact on Nielsen ratings. The sampling relies on a dog’s radio usage in a San Diego household, leaving mountainous regions excluded due to distance and sampling cost. Rep. Donald G.
