Edge is service officer for the post and for state VFW, the American Legion, and Harris County VA. partly employed at Baytown Refinery. Driscoll and Levering plan to attend from Houston and Brownsville respectively. Dedication of the VFW Hall on Decker Drive will be part of the program.
A Grocers’ Supply Co truck driven by C. J. Johnson of Houston overturned on Decker Drive at about 9 pm. Deputy H M Brown said the incident could have been worse. Johnson tapped his brakes when the car ahead slowed and authorities noted no injuries. Traffic was detoured for about an hour while the wreck was cleared.
Robert E. Lee High School students will take over Baytown city government this Saturday as part of Civic Week. Senior Clifford Rowe becomes mayor, with a student council and roles for city manager, city secretary, police chief, and other officials. The event includes a public relations day banquet and sessions with civic leaders, continuing a week of themed days from Church Day to Texas Hospitality Day.

Funeral arrangements are announced by Parental Home.
