Hospital Celebrates Jim Huss Birthday Amid Recovery
Jim Huss of Bayard entered Mary Greeley hospital in Ames December 31 for observation with x rays. He celebrated his birthday January 5 during a second week of hospitalization. Family visitors included Leon and Mrs Huss Peckumn, and Mr Jackson of Bayard. Art Warren also noted birthday greetings from relatives and friends including Des Moines visitors Gary and Patt Walker.

Returns from East Mrs Mable Brown visits and theater
Mrs Mable Brown returns to Bayard after visiting her daughter in Rockville Maryland. They toured Washington DCs National Art Gallery and waited four and a half hours to see the King Tut exhibit. The Kennedy Center Christmas concert drew a 2000 person audience. They saw a Theater in the Round Italian play Saturday Sunday and Monday. Craig Brown and his fiancée from Buffalo, both Navy stationed at Fort Meade, visited Bayard briefly.
