Mrs Mae Hardman hosted a Jefferson dinner Sunday. Guests included Mr and Mrs Gary Guzinski of Stuart Mrs Duane Palmer of Des Moines and several Jefferson residents. Mrs Guzinski formerly Diane Palmer and niece of Mrs Hardman was honored for her birthday.

February events include Pastor's Training for Youth, sermon Two Dimensions of Sacredness, Youth Fellowships in Bayard, plus finance committees and official boards meetings in Wichita and Bayard throughout the month.
The Trinity Lutheran Church announces Confirmation Instruction on Thursday February 8 at 4:30 pm with Theodore H Offermann as pastor. Walther League meets at 7:30 pm. On Sunday February 11 Worship at KCIM Carroll at 8:30 am with Sunday School and Bible classes after. Monday February 12 Instructions for Children at 6:30 pm.
Roberts Martin Church of Christ announces Sunday schedule with Sunday School at 9 30 am Worship at 10 30 am Elder and Deacon study Little Youth and Senior Youth Hour at 6 15 pm Evening worship at 7 30 pm for February 11 services.
Mr and Mrs Ralph Starling hosted a Friday dinner for their daughter Sharon to mark her thirteenth birthday. Guests included Luann Crawley and Mrs E A Starling, with Luann staying overnight as Sharon’s Saturday guest.
Wo man’s Society of Christian Service members and 15 Coon Rapids guests gathered for a 12 30 pot luck luncheon at Bayard Methodist Church hall on February 1. Tables honored two months. Mrs Earl Wolf opened with a poem and presided.
Ralph and Mike Phelps left January 18 for a trip through eastern states staying with Mr and Mrs William Nessier in Beloit Wisconsin and with Mrs Lois Behrens in Hagerstown Maryland. They joined their brother Jim at Fort Gordon Georgia where he completed National Guard military police training before returning to Bayard.
Bailey Technical School student Bill Lengemann of St Louis Missouri spends weekend with his parents Mr and Mrs Leo Lengemann and family. He is met at Des Moines airport by Sharon Lengemann of Des Moines and Mr Lengemann. Sharon joins the Lengemanns as a weekend guest at home.
Mr and Mrs Lengemann hosted Friday evening visitors and transported Bill to the airport Sunday evening, outlining a quiet family gathering and travel departure.
John August and Mindi Kay Waderich were baptized at the Methodist church by Rev. Dale M Bass. Mr and Mrs Waderich joined by letter. Mapleton’s Chalmers Miller attended as dinner guests. Randy Hughes birthday week included chili supper with multiple guests and extended family.
Friday evening guests of Mr and Mrs Dale Deeth included Patricia, Virginia, Cynthia, Lisa and Lora, with hosts Mr and Mrs Roy Adrain and Mr and Mrs Dan Adrian of Scranton. Cynthia was honored with a birthday cake made by Mrs Dan Adrian, aunt of the guest of honor.
Fragmentary note recalls Mrs Gray and Mig Lin as honored imperial daughters in Bucklin with a guest list and ceremonial honors.
