A visit to Atlantic on Sunday featured an art exhibit with 96 paintings by artists from the 19 county SW Iowa Regional Library System area. Mediums included acrylic ink oils pen and ink silk screen water color charcoal pastels and tissue collage. Works will circulate through 60 libraries during National Library Week.
Mr and Mrs Wesley R Davis marked their golden wedding anniversary on April 6 with a family dinner in Glidden attended by children and grandchildren from Coon Rapids Bayard Jefferson Jefferson and Waukee. A 3 to 5 pm reception featured yellow roses a gold lace tablecloth and a Cupid vase centerpiece with yellow blooms.
Mrs Anna Lucht and Ronald of Coon Rapids joined Mr and Mrs Henry Schick as guests of Mr and Mrs George Anderson in Jefferson for a cooperative Sunday dinner. The Andersons were celebrated for their birthdays, with Mrs Anderson identified as sister to Mrs Lucht and Mr Schick.
Bayard United Methodist Church previews fall curriculum with a Saturday April 12 session from 1 to 4 pm and weekly Church School at 9 45 am with worship at 10 am. Ascension Lutheran in Coon Rapids lists Sunday School at 9 15 am and worship at 10 30 am plus Ruth Circle and Joy Circle meetings and Bayard Bible study events through April 17.
Debra Kay Christian and Kevin Victor Holm reveal their engagement as a fall wedding is planned. Debra, a 1974 Eagle Grove High School graduate, works at Thomas Rest Home in Coon Rapids. Kevin attended Lake City High School and is employed by Dea Hog Farms in Bagley.
Minister LeRoy Guernsey invites participation in VBS with contact for helpers. Daily schedule lists Bible School at 9 30 p m Worship 10 30 am Youth 5 p m Bible Study 6 p m Wednesday 7 30 pm.
Jim Huss and Mr and Mrs Leon Peckuma visited Marshalltown on Friday, joining local residents for an outing and social visit in the town.
Robyn Hopkins marked her 12th birthday with a Friday night April 4 slumber party after her April 2 birthday. Guests included Janelle Stone LeeAnn Vaughan Kathy McAlister Kathy Esslinger Jodi Olesen Christy Martz Toni Johnston and Jeri Eischeid. Sunday visitors to the Rosenbladt home included Mrs Brideson and Mrs Rosenbladt with Mrs Phelps and family hosting a belated birthday for Mrs Brideson.
