St Mark's Episcopal Church announces Thursday services at 2730 Rev Pooley's with Friday choir practice and Sunday worship and Sunday school. Local updates include residents moving, library opening planned, and Joplin hosting a large American Mining Congress delegation in November.
Catalog of seasoned oak lumber available for sale includes multiple pieces of 2x8 and 2x12 in 12 to 14 feet lengths plus various 2x10 and 18 foot pieces. Counts detail 13 of 2x8 12 ft, 11 of 2x8 14 ft, 6 of 2x12 12 ft, 34 of 2x12 14 ft, 16 of 2x10 12 ft, 15 of 2x10 14 ft, plus single 2x10 18 ft and 14 ft lengths. Kansas lawmakers passed Chapter 319 in 1907 requiring school officers to display flags in every district. The Kansas Farmer plans to supply a free standard flag for each schoolhouse, asking districts to write for details. Also notes visits and local club meeting reminders with names and dates.
A. W. Apkams issues warning in Indian Territory against removing tailings or jig sand from Abrams land. Proclaims tailings contain ore and are valuable, and threatens prosecution to the full extent of the law. Reiterates refusal to permit further extraction by others.
A notice announces FR McGregor is now three doors south of his old office at Horner's site to handle insurance and rentals. Slippers for women and children sell for $1 to $2 at Pierce's. The piece also warns subscribers the October 1 pruning of lists and new subscription rates will take effect, and reports school board plans to create extra rooms to ease crowding. It then covers mining veteran T J West in Galena and the Ta sing family’s mining lease near Joplin, noting ownership transfers and a large cash sale of a mine followed by a move to Oklahoma City.
