Sequoah Mine Sold Near Baxter Springs for 260000

The Sequoah mine three miles southwest of Baxter Springs sold for 260000 to W W Scott of this city. It was held in fee by Scott and previously owned by Jess Short, Cole man of Philadelphia, and associates. The mine recently produced ore from drifting and a car load of ore was removed. The new owners plan to remodel and possibly enlarge the adjacent city mill.

Red Cross to Set Up Public Sewing Room

The Red Cross plans a fully furnished sewing room in two weeks to serve hospital gown making and surgical supplies. Library sewing sessions run Mondays Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 30 to 11 30 a m and 1 30 to 4 30 p m with Miss Audrey Smith and Miss Grace Perkins coordinating.
