New Methodist Church Dedicated Next Sunday in Baxter Springs
Baxter Springs prepares for the dedication of a new Methodist church on June first. The 96 by 98 foot brick building, finished with classic style and a fireproof design, seats about 1 300 and includes a large auditorium, classrooms, a kitchen, and a modern pastor’s home. The project, begun after the 1917 fire, cost about 90 000 and involved leaders J B Opperman L L Cardin M I Nichols and Rev C L Orton. Bishop Shepard will officiate.
