Friday night May 31 at G. E. Rucker's office a meeting will discuss reorganizing the Booster and Commercial clubs and trade extension matters. All business men urged to attend for the city's welfare. Also notes on monument showroom, school staff departures, and E. E. Stonecipher renomination bid.
Gus Lundgren at the Long Bell lumber yard aims to explain to farmers an easily and cheaply constructed “Common Sense” gilo. Silas urges farmers to go in and talk with him about it to improve their prospects.
A Gold Bond Flour ad offers a five cent reduction on a twenty four pound bag. Present the notice to your grocer Baxter Mill and Elevator limits one or two bags per family.
The Standard Land Co schedules a large excursion to the Lower Rio Grande valley in Texas for Wednesday June 5. Agent S. W. Coglizer will be in Baxter on Tuesday April 4 to arrange transportation and berths. Carnation Card Club disbands for summer. Visitors include Myrtle Rock in Caney Kansas and Miss Helen Cook in Kennedy Texas. Will Sweeney of Kansas City visits. George E. Rucker adds to Craney property. Mrs. W. H. Hornor and Mrs. Lillian Moore return from Hot Springs health trip.
A deep plowing demonstration using the Spalding Deep Tilling Machine will be held Saturday June 1 at J C Naylor’s farm seven miles west of town. Farmers are urged to attend to observe deep tilling on subsoil, with price and crop outcomes studied from planting to harvest. The event runs 2 to 4 p m with the apparatus on display at the Naylor place.
Potato bugs are worsening. act now to protect your crop. Mix one teaspoon Paris Green to a gallon of water, spray or sprinkler. Keep mixture stirred to prevent settling and avoid leaf burn by not applying too heavily. If you want potatoes this year, do it now.
St Mark s Episcopal church will hold services next Sunday evening as usual. Attendance last Sunday was satisfactory and the explanations of the church seasons were very interesting. Rector Hawke explains why and makes his explanation clear.

Mrs. Wilbur, who recently lost her dwelling and contents to a fire, is completing a new eight room dwelling. It will be very complete and convenient.

Miss Oka Rowe of Columbus visited here last week. Mr and Mrs J W Cook and Mr and Mrs A O Rossman dined Tuesday evening at Lake Fred Browning. Hood's manager says spring business is exceptionally good for implements. A fine rain fell last week though gardens were spared. Miss Olive Rowe and Clarice Dillman of Columbus visited Mrs Joe Vincent. Fern Cramer of Lawrence Kansas visits Mrs J H Boswell. Mr and Mrs Chas Goodeagle welcomed a daughter born Monday May 20 in Pawnee Okla.
