Roper Baby Died After Measles Bronchitis

Deaths include Roberta J P Roper three months old who died last Sunday from bronchitis following measles. Interment was at Green Lawn cemetery ten miles northwest. E C Lickiss longtime resident died at his son Frank Lickiss home in St Johns Kansas, and was brought back for interment. He leaves a wife and two sons.

St Martins Church Notice For Sunday Evening Service

Services at St Martins Church on West Street Sunday evening at eight oclock. The notice invites attendance and describes the services as very interesting. Stan Walberts of Colembut was here last week on business.

John Foley Buys Land in Rio Grand Valley

John Foley of Blue Mound traveled to the Rio Grande valley and bought 40 acres from the Standard Land Company, with an option on 40 more. He praised roasting ears and big watermelons, meeting old Bax­terite Mr. Rummel and planning crop preparations with W. S. Bingham of Quapaw.

A Hood & Sons Store at Columbus Damaged In Collapse

Last Saturday the big store building of A Hood and Sons at Columbus fell in during remodeling. Damage is around ten thousand dollars as supports gave way and the roof front and back collapsed. Implements, automobiles, and buggies were smashed making the structure a complete wreck requiring total rebuilding.

Fire Rips Through Bird Jordan Home in Third Ward

Fire destroyed a house owned by Bird Jordan in the Third ward early Saturday at about 4 30 am. Mrs Jordan was away at Mrs Elmer Graziers for the night. The structure and contents were lost except for a bedstead and a dresser.
