Dr. David B. Morgan the well known veterinary surgeon and dentist will be at Bischofsberger's barn. Take afflicted animals to him for treatment and care as he visits.
Rhubarb priced at 2 cents a pound and sewing machines advertised by Hood's. Mrs. Y. K. Brown improves after illness. Jay Livingston reports good wheat on his west of town farm. Ed. Sharp and Jake Lowe drag rural roads along Route 1 while the rural route man handles candy distributions. T. McAboy ships hogs to Kansas City for the first livestock shipment via the new road and M. O. G.. hogs loaded here in the evening, market by dawn.
A brief note says several young ladies plan marriage soon and mentions a wedding gowns article on another page to help decide what to wear. It notes the paper’s weekly women’s department offers timely dress and household topics.
A meeting of Baxter Springs citizens is set for 8 PM Friday March 23 at Geo E Rackers office. It aims to reorganize the Baxter Booster Club elect officers for the year and discuss new memberships and Chautauqua business. Everyone invited, including former members, to boost Baxter Springs this summer.

Dr Youse, active on Jarrett land west of town with other leases, sells a half interest for 2500 dollars to the Miami Royalty Company. He will drill six months at 9 cents per foot, receive 45 cents per foot for his work, and if the company takes the other half after six months, pay another 45 cents per foot and 10000 dollars. Youse has already started drilling under the new contract as the Miami Royalty Company drives development near Hattenville.
All Chautauqua Association members and signers of the guarantee are urged to attend Geo. E. Rucker's office on Monday evening May 26 at 8 o'clock. Each signer is liable up to 1100. The aim is to sell tickets and raise funds to bring lasting benefit to Baxter Springs. Theo W. Kitchen, President.
Fred Sowders of Galena broke his left leg sliding into third base while playing with the Columbus team here last Sunday. The third baseman toppled him as he crossed his legs, and Dr. Boswell set the fracture. Porter Clark from Galena transported the injured boy home by ambulance.
Reports say potato bugs are damaging crops in town. A Paris green and water spray or sprinkler can control them, though a heavy rain may require reapplication. The treatment is worth the effort to save the potatoes.
Last Saturday night lightning struck the home of Mrs. Alice Lawson at Military and North streets, burning it to the ground. Most household goods were saved. Insurance stood at $500 on the house and $300 on the contents.
Attention old soldiers of all groups. A Grand Army ball invites attendance at fal day services Sunday May 25 at 10:30 AM at the Methodist church. T. C. Weaver J. I. Fribley Adgt P.C. report a car of pew buggies at Hood's.
The Inter-State Reunion Association directors held their annual meeting to perfect plans for the 1913 reunion. A Frisco train service and M O G rights to run trains into the grounds are sought. Tent reservations end Tuesday noon. first come, first served. Posts nationwide will be notified of the change. Old Camp Logan is expected to draw a large crowd.
Stanley Walbert, president of the Cherokee County Old Settlers’ Reunion Association, invites all residents to submit early life reminiscences and bring in old tools and relics for display at the upcoming reunion August 12 to 14.
