Graduation exercises will be held Friday night at the Library Theatre. Dr Geo E Myers principal of the State Manual Training Normal at Pittsburg will deliver the class address. An exhibition of regular and special school work is on display in the building next to the Post Office. Every pupil contributes at least one specimen, offering a glimpse of the school’s standard. The exhibit is open every afternoon. visitors may come and go as they wish to show support and interest.
Plan to foil chinch bugs by planting a cane strip as a teamp crop between wheat and corn is urged by H. E. Smith, government entomologist, after surveying conditions in Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas. Cane sown now will be grown by wheat harvest, bugs moving from wheat to corn will be exposed and disposed of by deep plowing and dragging.

The Baxter Springs Chautauqua runs July 17 to 23 with a varied program. Featured acts include The Venttian Gondolier Band led by Gennaro Theobaldi violinist Meister Singers Male Quartet The Croatian Orchestra and several touring concert companies. Lecturers include Thos E Green Homer T Wilson Dr James Hedley and Thos McClary. A new Children's Chautangqua section for four to fourteen year olds offers drills games stories athletic exercises and hour-long supervision by local women leaders. Two daily sessions are planned one afternoon one evening highlighting a universal people focused education in a progressive town setting.
