Bt Louis April 30 The Chamber of Commerce of the United States spoke through a score of speakers and half as many committee reports today.
The editor of The Daily Citizen notes pressure from Secretary Glass to preach Victory Loan, another politician to push Jobs for the Jobless, and a Cincinnati contact on Social Conditions. He vows to address only the job issue, stressing soldiers need jobs now and criticizing political meddling in sermons. Col Walker dean of the Kansas State University engineering department will speak at Baxter Springs Library Hall at 8 15 pm tomorrow on manufacturing conditions in Kansas. Dr R C Moore state geologist will also speak in Baxter in the near future as Kansas plans a geology department.
The public utilities commission seeks to block Wichita Gas Co from charging more than 80 cents. The case started in Hutchinson county district court and may transfer to federal court. If moved, PUC and attorney general plan to remand the case to state court.
