The Citizens caucus nominated a strong ticket for Baxter Springs with Dr. Jones as mayor, citing his proven record and continued improvements over three and a half years. Columbus and Weir City also report single tickets, with party politics barred and cordial election expectations.
Dr. C. M. Jones and M. C. Har departed Monday for Chicago in response to a telegram from potential funders. The parties expect the money sources for the electric road through the city to be secured soon as financial difficulties subside.

Mullens, a former city resident, is linked to last Tuesday night depot robbery and earlier thefts at McAbo y meat market and a hardware store. He has given inconsistent alibis, and officers expect a confession naming a co-culprit. Mullens, aged sixteen last August, is described as a long-time offender.
Citizens of Baxter Springs met in Cooper's hall on Wednesday night and nominated a full ticket for city offices. Mayor Charles M. Jones and J M English for Police Judge head the slate with J W Cook as City Treasurer. Board of Education nominees include L L Cardin James Young Dr R C Wear Geo Sikes and Ed Covey. Young to fill Congdon vacancy. Councilmen: O C Rummel in First Ward W T Hartley in Second Ward T T McAboy in Third Ward. G E Lundgren chosen as chairman A V Smith as secretary.
The Republican caucus nominated a full city ticket: Mayor A B Willard, Police Judge J M English, City Treasurer J W Cook, L L Cardin. Education Board A J Thompson Mrs A L Harvey James Young W C Dills. First Ward Councilman Chas Ferris. Third Ward Councilman T T McAboy. Also listed are a sale of wagon and organ, sale ads for property, and cattle shipment.
Baxter Springs kicks off Booster Day season on Saturday April 1 with merchants offering special prices on seasonable goods. A long prize list will be raffled with no cost to enter beyond being in town, headlined by a $25 due bill redeemable at any local store. The town promotes its Booster Day tradition and invites residents to attend for better bargains.
Frisco crews battled a fire in three box cars at Frisco yards early Saturday morning. One car suffered heavy damage while the other two were uncoupled and saved. The cause remains a mystery though speculation points to a weary traveler using a car as a hotel and becoming careless.
