A Big Caucus Chooses Baxter Springs Slate

One of the largest caucuses in Baxter Springs met Friday night at the Grand Army hall with T. W. Kitchen as chair and A. L. Harvey as secretary. Ticket nominees included Mayor Charles M. Jones, Police Judge J. M. English, City Treasurer J. W. Coole, Treasurer Board of Education F. L. Brewster, Board of Education members Mrs. O. N. Baldwin Roy Allen W. N. Love, and Councilmen E. H. Schloeman H. E. Stein T. T. McAboy. The caucus favored the mayor’s re election, underscored by a large crowd.

The City Clerk's Office will place registration books in the city building from Monday March 17 to Friday March 21 at 10 p.m. Books stay open each night until 10. B. W. Patton, City Clerk.

Bake and Easter Egg Sale at Perkins Building

The Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian church will hold a bake sale Saturday March 22 in the Perkins building. They will also sell colored Easter eggs at market price. E. H., once a city resident, faced charges in Navarro County Oklahoma but the case was dismissed.
