R. R. Heap and wife of Galena visited in this city Sunday. Will Sweeney left Monday for his home at Miami Arizona. J. D. Treece is building houses to rent on the Chubb land. Mrs. A. D. Harvey is ill at her home on East Murray street. Born to Mr and Mrs Ernest Bardin on Thursday March 2. J. C. Treece is home from a business trip to this old home in Illinois. Some plowing is being done but ground is very wet. Tom McBride finished a house in the south part of town. A large number of people came to town last Saturday and business in all lines was very good. Bert Sweeney has returned to Beardsville, Til where he is? Woolworth.
Porter M Clark of Galena announced during a Monday visit that if weather permits he will begin constructing a new one story building at the corner of Military and River streets on March 20. The 50 by 80 foot structure will have a high ceiling for showroom galleries and will house a large furniture stock.
Parsons Jennings wedding announced as Marshant E. Jennings and Mim Aliie Parsons wed at Rev A L Jones home on Wednesday night March 1 The groom a taxi driver and local operator Mim Parsons raised here and known in the Baxter Telephone Co The News extends congratulations and notes they will reside in this city
The Baxter Choral Society organized last Wednesday night with thirty five members. A chorus of fifty voices is expected this Wednesday evening at the Christian church. If possible be present and help make this a success. All interested in a junior chorus please report to sight.
Mrs. Erva Bishop sister of J. L. Harmon and Lora Harmon, died last Thursday at her home in Iantha Missouri. Remains were taken to Webb City for interment. She was survived by her husband Alvin Bishop and three children.
