Gustave Gille of Joplin died in this city early Friday morning. Remains were taken to Joplin for funeral services held Sunday. He had completed a foundry and machine shop here before illness. White and a typho malarial illness of Will Smith. Baxter Chapter R. A. M. held meetings with visitors and a banquet, and Eugene L. Carney’s marriage in Los Angeles is reported.
St John s Day events contrast with the June 24 dedication of the new Masonic hall in the city. Southeast Kansas lodges will hold a day program at Abrams grove north of town starting with an annual meeting and officer elections, lunch, and multiple addresses by prominent Masons. The evening features the hall dedication by Grand Master Samuel R Peters and a series of Masonry readings and songs. A Baxter Band and Glee Club will perform between readings with plans for a large turnout.
Mrs Jemima Beatty died at her home near Neutral on June 9 and was buried at Columbus on June 10 after funeral services at the house. Henry Kinneman, who lived with O A Rhoade, died June 5 and was buried at Baxter on June 7 with funeral services led by Rev Stone at Betheleee Bore. A baby boy was born to L Dean and wife on June 11.
