John I Cooper travels to Elk County Kansas on business with Mr Dillon. Mr and Mrs Lee Livingston spend last Sunday at Lakeside. Hugh McCammon travels from Miami to visit friends. Weather last Thursday and Friday was very warm. Miss Maud Woodard of Kansas City arrived Tuesday to visit relatives.

Peter Bailey of Route 2 owns 30 acres of top quality alfalfa with a perfect stand. He will harvest four cuttings this year and is financially successful. John Elrod is noted as the region's leading gardener, and Bailey plans irrigation for next year.
Jack Hays a blacksmith living on Route 3 was seriously injured Sunday when he fell into a hole in the bridge over Spring River at Lowell while dodging two oncoming cars. He suffered paralysis of both legs and other injuries but a physician said recovery is possible and the hole is in a section maintained by the power company which may be liable.
Mrs. Harry Rowe of Route 3 suffered a broken nose when a foul ball struck her at Riverton during a Sunday afternoon ball game. She was watching with her husband at the time of the incident.
