The Big Baxter Reunion will run August 28 through September 2 with free tents for veterans and top speakers. James R Harmon, born 1840 and aged 71, died at his Lincoln street home after ill health. He moved to this city in 1882 from Indiana, leaving a wife and eight children in mourning. Funeral services were held at his home and interment followed in Baxter cemetery.
A heavy two day rain soaks the country around the city, filling creeks and stock ponds, lifting ditches and pastures, boosting forage crops and corn prospects. Farmers expect a strong grass growth and higher milk yields as the rains restore local fields after a drought.

Van B Kelsey brother of Geo Kelsey of this city died last Saturday at his home after a brief illness. He had been sent to Fort Lupton for a business matter and returned when informed of his brother’s illness. He passed away while with him at the hour of death.
