A historic grocery ad lists 1 pound coffees from several brands with prices around 15 to 25 cents. It also promotes wet mince meat by the pound, Pickwick and other items, assorted raisins, canned fruits, vegetables, baking powders, cereals, oatmeal, and nuts offered in bulk or small packages with price points and a special mix deal for 2 shillings.
Five room house with thirteen lots good well fair barn and some fruit offered for sale at 600 dollars on liberal terms. Also for rent at 60 dollars for a year if taken within a few days. Call at this office for details. Singer Sewing Machines for sale on installment plan by Chas H Rathbone tailor.
Magnolia Chapter No 158 welcomed Grand Matron Mary A Harrington of Topeka and other dignitaries including Mrs Elizabeth Magie and Mrs E B Schermerhorn of Galena. The event featured degrees conferred on Betty Burr and speeches highlighting Masonry history and the Masonic home. About 75 members and visitors attended with music, flowers, and refreshments.
Roy Allen died of acute Brights disease after a brief illness. Born May 22, 1881 in Larned Kansas, he lived in Arkansas before moving to Baxter in 1892. He married Lillie Snelson in 1904 and left a wife two children four sisters and two brothers. He served on the Board of Education and was a longtime salesman for John M Cooper & Co. Funeral services were conducted by Rev J C Plumb under the Maronic order auspic es with a large turnout from the community and visiting relatives.

It extols Baxter Springs water as the best, clean and pure, and urges readers to drink water elsewhere only if away from home.
Very Near Death recounts Kay Gransteuer and Ed colt of Skintook as a 6:03 pm M O G motor car struck their auto at Sheridan street crossing. They escaped injury though their vehicle plunged down an embankment. Witnesses say the motor car had no headlight. The wrecked auto is described as badly damaged.
The fourth quarterly conference of the M E church is scheduled with services at 7 30 Saturday evening and 11 00 am preaching by Dr C W Bailey district superintendent will officiate. Public invited. Also notes a mining camp development and road needs. A thimble party for Miss Harriet Helm of St Marys Kansas followed with luncheon. Several local residents named in social notices.
