Resolutions Honor Mrs Lucile Goodwin Harvey at Cher okee County High
The Board of Trustees and Faculty of Cher okee County High School express sorrow at the loss of Mrs Lucile Goodwin Harvey and extend heartfelt sympathies to her bereaved family. A copy of the resolutions is to be sent to Mr Harvey Baxter News and Columbus papers and filed in the secretary’s minutes as part of the permanent record.

Sunday School Notes E CHURCH Need More Pupils and Volunteers
The Sunday school reports 144 attendees last Sunday and aims for 200. One class helped a local family with needs, and Mrs. Florence Hartley joins as a teacher in the third primary class. More tables are promised for graded classes, and attendance in morning and evening services is rising as the church invites participation.

Mrs. Jennie Jones formerly Miss Jennie Hoke died Monday evening at her Galena residence. Funeral services are set for today with interment in Baxter Cemetery this afternoon.

Dead at 88 Mrs Rachel Laird of Will Overton
Mrs. Rachel Laird aged 88 died at her son's northwest Will Overton home last Thursday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were Sunday and she was buried in Baxter cemetery. She left three grown children, including W. C. Laird of this city. Charlie Paxson is ill with erysipelas on Route 1. City clerk holds franchise talks on proposed electric road this week. Baxter Supply Co advertises Queen incubator.

Death of Mrs. Overton near Cardin January 1916
Mrs. Kate Overton nee Meng wife of Wm. Overton died at her home north of Cardin on January 19 1916 at 7 30 p m Funeral services were held at the family home Friday at 1 p m conducted by Robert Denton and interment was in the Miami G A R cemetery She was born in Switzerland December 20 1850 aged 65 years 29 days came to the United States as a girl and married Wm. Overton of Kansas City June 11 1872 They moved to Oklahoma 37 years ago She had ten children eight surviving two died in infancy The surviving children and their residence Ottawa County are Ed Standifer Miami Wm Overton Jr Mrs James Bingham Mrs Ed Wilson Giles Overton Mrs Burt Douthit James Overton and Mrs Jack Wilson Also two sisters Mrs Henry Twisselmann and Mrs Henry Ludekey and a brother Mr Albert Meng of Shandon California and another sister Mrs Safford Yoas of Ganado Texas.

Death of Jas. Green in Pleasantview Township
James Green longtime Cherokee county resident died at his Pleasantview home last Thursday. Born in Fingland in June 1838 he came to this country at age 14 and has lived in the county 28 years on his farm. Survived by wife four sons and three daughters including Mrs. A. R. Kane of this city. He was regarded as a good citizen by friends and neighbors.
