A Frisco Railroad official told Baxter Springs council a right of way will be secured from Hockerville to the town if granted between South and Wyandotte streets. The grading gang is on site and work will start once the land is obtained. The Mineral Belt Railroad plans to parallel the Frisco tracks south of the camp and may seek an up town station site. The council extended River street paving to Fairview Ave and passed Ordinance 182 funding city bills. A dispute between Baxter Wholesale Grocery and M O G railroad over excavated ground was sent to the Street and Alley Committee. The meeting adjourned until Tuesday.

A Baxter Springs chamber auxiliary for women was created yesterday at the Chamber of Commerce, replacing the Federated club after its disorganization. The one dollar membership remains, with officers elected: President Mrs Walter Apple, Vice President Mrs Ed Polster, Secretary Mrs Merton Goorleagle, Treasurer Mrs A R Kane. A $50 surplus from the Federated clubs treasury was transferred to the new group. The next meeting is Tuesday at 3:30 PM at Chamber headquarters. all civic minded women are urged to attend.
