Windows at Cooper's Grocery Attract Local Shoppers
Joplin observers note activity around Cooper's Grocery with Mrs J C Plumb shopping on Friday and P Lewis on business. Des Moines visitor Mrs Chas Hummel visits her mother Mrs J A Sour. Walt Sullivan traded a Ford for a new one in an hour. A C Edrington did business in Columbus early week. Wheat prices rise and farmer morale improves. William McSherry delivers wheat from Lyon township farm at $1.20 a bushel.

Horse Thieves Caught
Sunday morning Marshall Horton and J O Treece observed a black horse and buggy driven by two Italians. Horton identified the outfit as stolen after describing the property. Henryetta officials confirmed the theft from Payton Oklahoma. The Creek owner described the gear in detail and identified it. Deputies secured the suspects Geo Smith and Joe Moachat. They offered to return the property without requisition.

Police In Jail Involved Drunk Muskogee Man
John Doyle a Muskogee Oklahoma policeman rode to Joplin drank during the return trip. He became so disorderly on the Missouri Pacific car that conductors telephoned Marshal Horton in Joplin. Doyle was jailed, arraigned before Police Judge English, and fined nine dollars, which he paid after wiring for funds.
