The next day the directors chose officers: President John M. Cooper Vice President L. M. Perkins Cashier W. W. Wyatt Assistant Cashier John J. Cooper.
J. T. Morrison announces he has sold his produce business to Carpenter & Shafer Company but will continue in charge for the new owners. Yeager moves to Gra Ark to manage a company house. Morrison pledges fair dealing and top market prices, with offices in the Baxter Produce Company building.
G W Roper, once running ice operations on Willow Creek in Lyon township, plans to sell his farm after a cyclone last spring. Sam West buys Geo Sikes's feed business and wagon yard on East River Street and will operate it to the established standard.
The Baxter Gas Company has not opened a local office in Baxter Springs to collect bills or register meters. Citizens report flooding and moisture in homes using the gas, blaming slow meter registration and the absence of local management. A local critic suggests installing moisture-removing “bleeders” to fix gas moisture without wasting gas.
Fire broke out Sunday evening at J. A. Dent’s East Neosho street residence due to thawing pipes. Irene and Mrs. Percy Kings aided by Dent daughters extinguished the blaze before alarmed firemen arrived. Earlier, Will Jones’s torch used to thaw pipes ignited rubbish under the house, risking rapid spread.

Willow creek ice stands seven inches thick, thicker than years. It recalls Feb 13 1905 when thermometers plunged to 28 below zero. Oxecar Pickering, son of C L Pickering, marries Besnie Spence on Jan 4 at St Mark's church. Howie notes Miss Spence as well informed, popular, and engaging. A. C. Stewart buys Justice stock and rents A V Smith residence on Kant River street. Mrs Will Biabop travels to Mulberry for responses to mounting concerns.
