A Mineral Cave Near Blue Spring Attracts Prospectors
W A Douthit owns eighty acres near Blue Spring where a cave was found while clearing a former rabbit burrow. Zinc ore specimens appeared as workers expanded the cave which may extend about twenty by ten feet high. A nearby drill reached 120 feet with open ground and tallow clay, hinting at further ore. Fullers Earth deposit was also struck in the cavern area, valued around fifty dollars per ton crude.

First of Forty Drill Holes Begun in Indian Territory
The Iowa and Oklahoma Development Company started the first of forty drill holes Tuesday morning just south of Baxter in the Indian Territory. The discovery hole lies about one hundred yards from the initial shaft. Company officials expect rapid development and anticipate announcing another strike next week. They report large zinc bodies under much of the land and foresee paying mines by spring with more drills to follow.
