St Mark's Church announces the second Sunday in Advent on December tenth with the collect and scriptures from Romans and Luke, hymns numbers 43, 331, and 645. Regular services are at eight o'clock Sunday evening, and a welcome invitation is extended to attend.
A mixed local item list shows taxes due at State Bank to B Patton, and visits by Ex-Governor Crawford from Topeka. It records arrivals from Newport Arkansas and Joplin, Thanksgiving gatherings in Galena, hospitalities, fires near town, and adds classified style ads for gas irons from Hood’s. It notes Dr. Nannie A. Bailey opening offices in the Polster Hotel and a luncheon plus whist party hosted by Mrs. Emma Gregg.
Last Saturday Baxter Springs hosted Booster Day attracting a large crowd. early arrivals filled every hitching spot and merchants reported strong business. Weather was perfect and 1283 tickets were issued with worthwhile prizes awarded. A booster day also occurred in Columbus that same day, keeping both towns lively.

A luncheon followed after progressive games and word contests.
