News From The Mines In South Camp On Richest Ores

Quapaws Cannot Sell for 25 Years
A St Louis dispatch of July 27 reports the federal court of appeals upheld a law forbidding transfer of Quapaw lands for 25 years after allotment. The case Goodrum and others versus Arthur Buffalo involved dispossession of a minor, Buffalo, from Oklahoma lands inherited through his mother. The Indian Territory appellate court affirmed Buffalo's ownership.

Ten Dollar Reward for Bax ter Glass Insulator Damage
A $10 reward is offered for evidence leading to conviction of those damaging Bax ter Telephone Company property by breaking glass insulators or similar acts. An accident at Emma Gordon mine near Miami last week saw a tub pusher hit by a falling boulder from inadequate cribbing. The tub man’s injuries are painful but not serious.
