The City Council met in adjourned session with Mayor Brewster presiding. Jim Masters conducted business in Webb City on Wednesday. T. J. Morrow has a new barn under construction on his residence. Dr. W. B. Cline was ill this week and returned home to Joplin. Chas. Rossman of Bluffton Ohio visited his parents Mr and Mrs. Jacob Roseman in the city this week. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kelly hosted a large dance at their Territory home on Wednesday night. Ed Covey crafted a new drag resembling a city institution with his own iron work and painting. Carrie Nation, traveling through Baxter Thursday, spoke in Galena in the afternoon and evening. Carrie appears motherly but grows irritable when provoked.
