The Baxter Paint and Wallpaper Co advertises wallpaper available at up to 400 per bolt, promoting a price reduction for home decor shoppers.

Bert Duncan is back from Claremore and several residents travel for business or visits in Joplin Galena and Miami. The city discusses duties new committees after elections and the Sunday school at St Mark's church. The Baxter Planing Mill plans wood pulley manufacture and road and bridge improvements under Ex County Commissioner Beggs. Mrs Gustin dies after long illness with funeral held. street improvements continue as mayor Jones plans crossings and more sidewalks.
Proclamation calls all residents of Baxter Springs to gather trash and filth from premises and place it along streets for wagon removal. Citizens urged to clean to street centers, with Mayor Charles M. Jones and City Clerk George C. Connor endorsing the effort. Nodas For Bids notice for curb and gutter work on Military Street also included with bid deadline April 27, 1909.
