Orvel Foster Hurt In Mine Debris Fall
Orvel Foster, a shoveler at the Columbus mine in Galena, suffered a sprained ankle and cuts when more than two tons of dirt fell from the drift roof at 9 o'clock Monday. He was nearly buried but survived with minor injuries. A nearby shoveler was struck by debris but unhurt. Foster was taken to Dr. H Jones' office and is expected to recover soon.
