Phippsburg Local Committees and Community Events

Phippsburg committees met at Supt Stanwood Gilman home to discuss library books due back October 6 with a reminder for all to return them Saturday. PTA plans a Riverside hall food and rummage sale Saturday 11 am to 2 pm to fund hall maintenance and community programs. Town Republicans met to review state election funding and November transportation. Bodwell Grange elected officers and installed later, with a beauty contest naming Norma Pye apple princess and Sagadahoc Pomona potential state Grange rep. Willing Workers 4 H Club met Sebasco home. Christian Service committee to finalize mother daughter banquet planning. Personal notes include residents visiting, moving, and local party events, plus Rev Stevens attending Chicopee anniversary.

A family from Bath and visitors from Stony Brook and Medford enjoyed weekends at local cottages. Irish-Bourgoin wedding at Center Street home

Miss Marion Elizabeth Bourgoin daughter of Mrs Bourgoin and the late Bourgoin married Delbert Irish T M S N Navy Saturday evening in a double ring ceremony performed by Harold J Ruth justice of peace. Stork Shower Honors Mrs. Robert Berry at North Bath

Mrs. Robert Berry of North Bath was guest of honor at a stork shower given by Mrs. Elbert Woodman and Mrs. Edward Hawkes Jr. The three year old daughter Katie assisted as gifts were displayed in a bassinet net. Refreshments followed a social evening with many invited guests.
