Morse High boys finalize their OMAFa schedule and choose team leaders. Coaches urge prompt attendance, fair play, and sportsmanlike conduct to uphold the school’s reputation in Maine and inspire future squads.
Early celery should be ready for blanching in August in central and northern latitudes while southern crops market earlier. Use boards rather than hilling to avoid decay in warm weather and after rain. Place boards against the row, fill between stalks with soil, and gradually mound as plants grow while avoiding soil entering celery hearts. Do not water when dew or rain is on. Cover at night with straw or old carpets as frost nears. Gypsy moths near Bath alarm farmers.
Hon. Frank S. Adams of Bowdoin announces his bid for Maine Agriculture Commissioner. He cites 25 years of agricultural work, leadership roles in the Board of Agriculture and Maine Dairymen's Association, and farm institutes across the state. Adams seeks support from friends and electors.
Chester Colby of Bath visited over Sunday while M. C. Knight returned to Bates College on the USth after summer in Bath. Mr. and Mrs G. G. Judkins and son Steve were in Bath over Sunday. Their little son Alton, in Bath Hospital, is improving slowly. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Gove were in Bath Monday. Percy Hodges bought a yoke of three year old steers. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Greenleaf of Somerville Mass. are vacationing at Greenleaf Cove. The Ladies Aid met with Mrs. Outhouse Wednesday. Mrs Haess Shea is improving slowly. hopes to join us soon.

East Orange residents Mr and Mrs William E Purington arrived in Phippsburg to visit relatives including Mrs Mary Purington and Mrs Walter Perry in Winneganee. The Leviathan dredge completed bridge work at Winnegance. a scow with rock crews the wall. The town also notes rains washing roads, Grange plans for Sagadahoc Pomona, and Steamer Virginia resuming winter schedule.
Mr. Jones preached at the M E Church last Sunday. Bion Shea and family were at Gardiner by motor boat. Fred Lawrence visited from Lewiston. Mrs. Luella Palmer of Richmon visited her sister Mrs. B Snipe this week. Mrs. J H Snipe is in Lewiston for a week. Mrs. F H Snipe returned from Lewiston Sunday. A number from here attended Francis Jones funeral in Woolwich last week. Grace Potter is improving after an operation at Bath City Hospital. Another family likely to move to Auburn. Mrs. John Currier and two children spent Sunday in Bath. No school at north district Monday due to teacher illness.
