After a Sunday service at the Free Meeting House Robinhood the Official Board elected Eugene Reynolds treasurer of the Parsonage fund and authorized monthly winter cottage meetings. The pastor Rev Dr Oliver W Bell led the service with Harry Marsters at the organ assisting.
Mrs Virginia Saucier was elected president of the Traveler's Bowling League at the first fall meeting held Thursday evening at Mrs Leah Coleman's home in Washington street. Other officers named for 1957 58 are Mrs Elsie Genthner vice president Mrs Grace Young secretary and Mrs Leah Coleman treasurer. The group discussed the season schedule and announced that bowling begins at 8 p m on Thursdays at Arcade bowling alleys.
The dedication service for Gray auditorium and the centennial observance of the local Baptist church are set for Thursday evening October 17, not October 19 as previously stated. The wedding of Miss Sylvia Pinkham and Franklin MacNeil will be at 2 PM Saturday at the local Baptist church.
Mrs. Warren P. Munsey was guest of honor at a surprise stork shower hosted by Mrs. Milton C. Savage at 902 High Street Bath. Attending were many Bath residents and relatives from Day's Ferry Portland Lewiston and Portland with gifts and a pink blue bassinet display.
Civil Defense Director Roscoe C. McFadden announced volunteers are still being accepted for the new rescue truck. Eligible are able bodied men 16 and over. Classes start next week if 40 sign up. Crews of five will operate around the clock after training including rescue procedures, lifting, rigging, shoring, and mask work.
Thirty members and guests attended the opening Fall meeting of the Woman's Society of Christian Service at Wesley Methodist Church. Mrs. Forrest Fowles of Boothbay Harbor spoke on society goals. Luncheon plans and circle chairmanships were announced, with next events set for Oct. 8 and future luncheons in October and November.
Floyd H. Smith 45 of 50 Elm Street died Sunday at Bath Memorial Hospital. Born August 28 1912 in Kennebunk son of Herbert and Mabel Smith. Survived by a brother Freeman Smith of Kennebunk. Funeral at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Arthur F Mayo Son Funeral Residence, Rev Dr David L Wilson officiating. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mrs Myrtle Shepherd Whit ten wife of Leslie C Whitten of Union New Jersey formerly of this city died suddenly Monday at her home Born Oct 21 1904 she graduated Morse High School in 1923 Surviving include her husband one sister two brothers and several nieces and nephews a sister in law Mrs Harry F Morin of this city. Ducted at 2 p m Thursday at Hoberle Barr funeral home Union N J Mrs Richard Arnold of this city substituted organist at Topsham United Baptist church Sunday replacing William Eves on vacation.
Mr and Mrs Horace P Morse arrive back at 10 West Street after a summer spent at their Se basco cottage.
Charles S. Sewall 82 longtime Wiscasset Academy principal town clerk and educator died at his Wiscasset home. He lectured on botany after Arctic expeditions with Cmdr. Donald B. MacMillan and served as tax collector and school official. Funeral Thursday at St Philip's church with donations to the academy scholarship fund.
Teri Lee Whittaker six of Bristol formerly of Arrowsic died Saturday night at Children’s Medical Center Boston after a long illness. Born in Bath April 3, 1951 she was the daughter of Chester A and Joyce M DeVoe Whittaker. Survived by her parents one brother Chester M one sister Linda A paternal grandmother Mrs George Gates Arrowsic maternal grandmother Mrs John Hopkins Hartford Conn. Funeral at 1 30 p m Wednesday at Arthur F Mayo Son funeral residence Rev Richard Arnold officiating. Interment in Oak Grove family lot.
Harold W. Child 69 of Bath Maine died early Sunday at Bath Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born January 14 1888 in Bath he was a former city messenger for 16 years and served one term on the old Common Council. He worked in the Bath Iron Works production department retiring in 1951. Survived by his widow Madeline a son Clinton E of Miami Fla a daughter Mrs Mary Pinkham Bath two sisters Mrs Louise Watson Waterville and Mrs Helen Nichols Bath four grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday at 1 30 pm at the family residence with Rev Charles R Sims officiating burial in Oak Grove family lot.
Mrs. Della Emma Coggeshall widow of George Elmer Coggeshall died at age 77 on Wednesday September 4 at her Phippsburg home after a long illness. Born October 24, 1879 in Dixmont she lived in Winneganee district for 30 years and previously resided in Derby. Survived by son Orman L. Coggeshall sister Mrs. Vivian Leavitt granddaughter and four nephews and nieces. Funeral services conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Leslie C. Shumway funeral home 638 High Street with Oak Grove interment.
Funeral services for Della E. Coggeshall were held Saturday at Leslie C. Shumway Funeral Home with Rev. Craig H. Richards officiating. Bearers were Max Leavitt Sterling Leavitt Ray Leavitt and Berley Leavitt. Attendees from out of town included Vivian Leavitt Laura Austin Dixmont and William LandersRoy Creamer Providence R I. Lester Leavitt Bucksport Sterling Leavitt Holden Ray Leavitt Hamden and Berley Leavitt Millinocket.
