City council approves floodlights at Kelley Field
The Bath City Council voted 3-2 to back the Kelley Field lighting plan after a protracted conference among the Common Council Recreation Commission and aldermen. William Johnson cited $10,000 in backing from businessmen and student council funds to install 12 lights for night football and other activities. Mayor Donald Small supported action for the time element and citywide benefit, while the issue of a city pension plan for police, prompted by Patrolman Foley’s situation, was tabled pending Monday election results and potential government changes.
