Neptune Farther From Sun Than Earth Receives Little Light

Neptune lies about 30 times farther from the sun than Earth and receives only one nine hundredth as much light and heat on equal areas of its surface. Scientists note the great distance accounts for its frigid conditions and pale illumination compared with our planet.
