Two Alarm Fire At Park Alleys Controlled Quickly
A blaze started under the Park bowling alleys storing patterns of Watson Frye Co. and spread through the basement. Firefighters, aided by multiple alarm calls, contained the flames on the south side of the building and its basement in short order. Several men were cut by glass, including Frye Co. workers, and smoke was intensely pungent from varnish. The structure, 36 or 37 years old, remains insured and mainly intact with bowling lanes and joiner shop under O. W. Ring’s management.

Deposits of unsuccessful bidders returned. successful bidder’s deposit applied to price. If balance not paid in ten days funds forfeited. if court does not confirm sale deposits returned. Admiral Hughes to command Uncle Sam's Battle Fleet
The Bath born Admiral Charles F. Hughes U S N will lead the Battle Fleet on its return from a cruise to Australia New Zealand Tasmania and the South Sea Islands. He will succeed as commander of the fleet in the wake of Admiral Robison becoming commander in chief of the United States Fleet and Admiral Williams taking the Asiatic Fleet post. Hughes a Bath high school graduate is described as tall vigorous and popular with junior officers.
